Ozone:

Ozone is a pale-blue poisonous gas with a sharp irritating smell. It has the formula O3 Ozone enlists in a layer at a height of about 20 kilometers above the earth.

It is beneficial for the earth by the fact that it absorbs ultraviolet radiation of the sun and protects the earth’s surface from too many radiations.

USES OF OZONE: 

  • (I) It is largely used In the preparation of pharmaceuticals, synthetic lubricants, and organ compounds.
  • (ii) 03 is sometimes used to kill bacteria of domestic water in place of chlorine.
  • (iii) Also used as a bleaching agent.
