Short note on PLASTIDS



 

PLASTIDS: –

Plastids are organelles in the cells of plants, which contain different pigments. They are:

 

(1) CHLOROPLAST:

They have green pigment chlorophyll found m leaves and other green parts of a plant. They help in photosynthesis.

 

(2) CHROMOPLAST:

They have other different coloured pigments and are found in flowers, fruits and other coloured parts of the plant

 

(3) LEUCOPLASTS:

Leucoplasts are colourless pigments found m cells of underground parts of a plant. They store food as starch.
