Four general properties of transition elements.



Transition Elements:

These are the elements which belong to the sub-group ‘8’ of each group of Periodic Table, from IB to VIII B characteristics. 

(i) They have high melting and boiling points and are heavy metals

(ii) The exhibit more than one valiancy.

(iii) The compounds of the transition elements have characteristic colours.

(iv) Besides valiancy shell, the penultimate shells are also incomplete.
