Differentiate between high level and low level languages.



 

High-Level Language :

  • High-Level languages consist of simple English, sentences.
  • High-Level languages are more suitable for human use than machine languages.
  • The programs of high-level language do not have to be written for a particular computer.
  • Compiler or interpreter is used to convert high-level language into machine language.
  • Programs in high-level languages are slow in execution.
  • Knowledge of hardware is not. required to write programs

 

Low-Level Language :

  • A low-level language is a combination of mnemonic operation codes and symbolic codes Jor address.
  • A low-level language is one step higher than the machine language in human readability.
  • Each Computer has its own low-level language.
  • Assembler is used to convert low-level language into machine language.
  • Programs in low-level I languages are fast in execution.
