Differences between Respiration and Combustion.

 

Respiration

  • In cellular respiration organic food proteins carbohydrates, fats burn in presence of oxygen to give CO2 water and energy.
  • Respiration takes place in several steps each step by an enzyme.
  • Small amounts of energy released can be stored as A.T.Ps.

Combustion

  • It is the process of burning like wood coal, methane etc producing CO2 and energy.
  • Combustion takes place in one go or in one step
  • Entire energy is released at a time which may be utilized of wasted.
