Define the following: (i) Mitosis (ii) Species (iii) Physiology



(1) Mitosis:

It is the cell division in which the parent cell divides into two daughter cell in a way that the number of chromosomes in the daughter cells remains the same as in parent cell.

(2) Species:

Species is the basic unit of classification. It consists of a group of organisms which has numerous common, physical features. The organisms are capable of interbreeding and producing fertile offspring.

(3) Physiology:

It is the branch of Biology in which functions of different parts of the living organism, are studied.
