Define the following: (1) Diffusion (2) Sublimation (3) Brownian movement



(i) Diffusion:

The spreading of a substance through a medium like air or liquid due to the motion of molecules is called diffusion. E.g. perfumes spread due to diffusion

(ii) Sublimation:

When certain solids are heated, they change directly into v~pours without melting. It is called Sublimation. E.g. Iodine

(iii) Brownian movement:

Brownian Movement is a continuous rapid, zig-zag motion of suspended particles through a medium, like air or water etc.
