(i) Fusion:

When a solid is heated it melts from solid to liquid. This is called Fusion.

(ii) Evaporation:

The escape of molecules from the surface of a liquid without heating is called Evaporation. It takes place at all temperature.

(iii) Sublimation:

When a solid, on heating, changes. directly into vapours without melting, it is called sublimation.
