Define: (i) Atomic number (ii) Mass number (iii) Avogadro’s number



(i) Atomic number:

The total number of protons only in the nucleus of an atom is called Atomic Number and denoted by “Z1”

(ii) Mass number:

The total sum of Protons and Neutrons in the nucleus of an atom is called Mass Number and denoted by ‘A’.

(iii) Avogadro’s number:

The number of atoms or ions or molecules or formula units present in 1 mole of a substance is called Avogadro’s Number and it is 6.02 x 10^23
